CryoPen®

SUBSCRIBE TO CULTSKIN® Lab

CULTSKIN® Lab is a 12 month subscription service which entitles the patient to one advanced skin treatment every month for a year!

Our CryoPen® treatment is clinically proven to permanently remove skin imperfections and abnormalities, including skin tags, freckles, cherry angiomas, warts, benign moles, age spots, verrucae, milia and is even effective in ridding small areas of built-up pigment.

Commonly used in the medical industry too, Cryotherapy is the controlled destruction of unwanted blemishes by the precise application of extreme cold. Here at CULTSKIN®, we use the official CryoPen® to accurately infuse nitrous oxide into the blemish, freezing the intercellular fluid, to which the damaged cell is passed through the lymphatic system as waste. By destroying the cells’ reproductive DNA, the medical treatment eliminates imperfections from returning, however depending upon the patient’s genetic structure or lifestyle, there is a small chance of the imperfection returning. Like with most medical treatments there are some risks attached, however following aftercare will prevent this and ensure optimal healing of the area, also minimising chances of pigmentation/loss of pigment too.

During treatment, the CryoPen® is kept precisely to the target area/s, for the patient to expect a cold sensation that may last for 1-30 seconds based on the type and size of the imperfection to be treated. It’s incredibly quick, but effective! Precise freezing to the millimetre gives the ability to control how deep the nitrous oxide penetrates and ensures healthy skin cells are avoided.

Although the Cryopen® treatment is very quick, multiple passes may be needed optimising safety and minimising downtime/unwanted risks of pigmentation, etc. However, what to expect will be clearly outlined within your treatment plan by your CULTSKIN® Skin Specialist or CULTSKIN® Doctor Associate beforehand. This treatment can be treated stand-alone, or combined within existing treatment as an add-on, if a CULTSKIN® member. Simply ask your CULTSKIN® Skin Specialist or our Patient Care team for further information.

If not had done already, a medical consultation is required so that the lesion, especially moles, can be assessed, to ensure that they are benign and can then be treated with cryotherapy.

CryoPen® FAQs

Our CryoPen® treatment is clinically proven to permanently remove skin imperfections and abnormalities, including skin tags, freckles, cherry angiomas, warts, benign moles, age spots, verrucae, milia and is even effective in ridding small areas of built-up pigment. Depending on which of these are your lesion of focus at the time of treatment, will determine what to expect and for how long post-treatment, which will be discussed in depth and made clear within your treatment plan with your CULTSKIN® Doctor or Skin Specialist.

For the first 48 hours, the patient should expect redness, erythema, a sensation, an itchiness, swelling, etc. This is all normal, as remember, a medical treatment has been performed freezing the cells to remove the lesion. For this initial period, we strongly advise not touching the treated area, avoiding swimming, sunbathing, steaming, or applying topical active skincare or make-up on the lesion.

Thereafter, the patient may notice the lesion darkening in colour, still a little swollen and for some, scabbing or flaking. Again, all normal and temporary signs of healing. As the body processes the damages cells, the lesion or scab will eventually fall off naturally.

Due to the nature of the treatment, especially the sensitivity surrounding lesions, growths or moles that haven’t been medically certified as benign, a medical consultation is required before going ahead with treatment.

Within any consultation with us at CULTSKIN®, you’ll be provided with a treatment plan, detailing full pricing, ideal distance between each treatment, contraindications and further advice, which will be emailed to the patient too, for ease of reflection before commiting.

Give us a call on 02039704693 and a member of our Patient Care team will be able to assist you further!

Our CryoPen® treatment is clinically proven as a safe and reliable medical treatment, however, once the area has healed for the initial 2-6 weeks, a change of pigment can be common within the skin left post-lesion. Generally, the pigment will return to its natural colour over time, but due to the nature of the treatment, this isn’t always the case, and so has to be considered by the patient before going ahead with the treatment.

During treatment, the tissue is destroyed by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, with formation of ice crystals, which leads to rupture of the cell membrane, destroying the cell. There will be no collateral damage to healthy surrounding tissue.

Also, if taken place on areas where hair grows, the treatment can result in hair follicle damage too.
